Writing is my first and biggest passion

ARTICLES

In every role I’ve had, I’ve researched and written thought leadership articles, communications narratives and presentations on behalf of my own company or our clients. Topics I’ve written on include: autonomous cars, sustainable smart cities, B2B software, brand leadership, digital ethics, circular economy and AI.

Here is the most recently published and still available example of my work.

Here is an article I wrote several years ago but it’s a fun one, because I’m talking about the need for a platform like Slack, not knowing that it would come to market a couple months later.

WEB COPY

When I joined Seventy Agency in 2014 as a Senior Brand Strategist, there were just 17 of us, and no copywriters. My lifelong love of writing and experience from previous roles made it natural to take up the pen across a variety of channels, purposes and industries. As far as web copywriting, I’ve delivered that for dozens of projects, integrating SEO tactics and partnering with UX designers to wireframe content according to strategy.

For a financial services client, I developed their brand narrative and led the project to build their new website, launched end of 2019. I delivered the majority of their brand copywriting, on this page for example.

For a tech services company, I created their brand positioning and message platform, as well as segmented, named and defined their portfolio. I led a team in developing the visual identity and the wireframe, design and web copy for parts of their new website. On their Home page, and Solutions page, all copy is my own.

FILM SCRIPTS

Writing a film script can be trickier than writing social media copy or ad campaigns. I began writing and editing scripts when we kept having clients wanting to write their own for films my agency was making for them. Though it wasn’t in budget or scope, I got involved so we could deliver the best quality and most engaging content. My brand agency eventually expanded our copywriting team to support this, but I still worked with the film team to ensure clear, cohesive narratives and language.

Here’s an example of a film that was produced for Ericsson to bring to life innovative experiences drivers and passengers could have in a car connected with their solutions. It was developed to be shown at major tech trade shows and meetings with automotive makers. Though this main film is a couple minutes long, we also delivered a set of short 15 second films showing individual use cases for use across social media channels. I wrote the script and edits for all films and led production and design.

PERSONAL

I kept up a well-read blog during my time living abroad. I used to get hundreds of hits per day from around the world for the search term “Swedish guys,” which was not intended. But my most supportive audiences were friends and family, as well as other international students and professionals that found my blog at some point during their plans to move to Sweden. Here’s a post I look back fondly on.

I was often invited to write for various expat websites about living in Sweden. Here is one of my published pieces about the city of Stockholm.

The Sun Magazine invites readers to submit stories on different themes every month. My mom had encouraged me to submit for years. I finally did in 2017, and my piece was published. My first try! You can find the piece here.
